What is Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds?

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is a role-playing game created by Netmarble and published by Level-5 released for Android and iOS in Japan. It was first revealed at "G-Star", in November 2019, and Tokyo Game Show presented the first gameplay footage in September 2020.

Plot

The player is a beta tester for a virtual reality fantasy game called "Soul Divers". Once inside, the AI which was supposed to act as a guide for the players, a girl called Rania, breaks the system while trying to warn the player of something. When the player wakes up, they find themselves in the middle of a fierce battle. They are able to escape from danger thanks to Queen Sia and Cluu. Afterwards, the player heads to the Kingdom of Evermore, to seek aid in protecting their nameless kingdom and the whole of Ni no Kuni, and they begin to realize that the new world might not be a game after all...

Classes

Unlike in previous Ni no Kuni games, the player can choose their own class. The appearance and name of said main character are also customizable. There are five classes:

Swordsman (Heroic Fencer) is a young office worker full of daring spirit. He applied for Soul Divers in search of new challenges to get out of his boring routine.

He uses a one-handed sword and specializes in quick, continuous attacks. He is a gentleman, but he also has a boyish nature, and he fights off his enemies with his brilliant swordsmanship. His incredible blade-work demoralizes his enemies on the frontlines.

Swordsman (Attacker)

Witch (Beautiful Magician) is capable of overcoming any trouble, she is regarded by those who know her as a witch. In Soul Divers, she is reborn as a true magic user.

A magical perfectionist with a clever flying spear and nimble feet. She has a brilliant mind and can adapt to any situation.

Witch (Attacker)

Rogue (Playful Archer) is a mischievous boy with infinite playfulness and sophisticated dexterity. His talent blossoms in Soul Divers, astonishing even adults.

He's a bowman who confuses his enemies with his tricky moves and his archery skills. He is not only a long range attacker, but also a supporter who strengthens his party.

Rogue (Support)

Engineer (Adorable Sharpshooter) is a genius girl with a brilliant mind. Maybe the world of Soul Divers can satisfy her never ending curiosity.

She is a weapons expert who can wield various firearms such as rifles. She's also a helpful ally who can heal her friends on the battlefield!

Engineer (Healer)

Destroyer (Giant Warrior) is a florist who loves bringing joy to people who need a little cheering up. He has a gentle personality, contrary to his muscular appearance.

He's rugged warrior who can deliver a powerful blow with his huge hammer. He is a reliable companion on the battlefield, attacking he is merciless to his foes but a dependable friend to his allies.

Destroyer (Tank)

This game combines the combat systems of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, in that the player attacks with their own weapon but also carries three familiars who support them.
